Robert M. Garfinkle

Bobby Garfinkle is the trial lawyer in our firm. His practice is based in complex commercial litigation, personal injury, probate and domestic relations. He is admitted to practice in federal and state courts in Tennessee, as well as the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

As Special Deputy Commissioner for the State of Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Bobby helped spearhead a team that shut down National Foundation of America, a $20 million scheme targeting the elderly, and collected and returned most of the victims’ money. Cases of note include N. Eddie Montgomery, etc. 983 F. 2d 1389 (6th C. 1993), in which the Trustee recovered a $2.25 million preference from a bank that had extricated itself from a check kite.

Bobby lives with his wife, Pat, in the Historic Richland area of Nashville. He has two grown children. A Peace Corps volunteer in Brazil from 1968-1970, he enjoys foreign travel, and is an avid tennis player and reader. A jazz aficionado, Bobby still listens to his large collection of jazz albums on vinyl.
